David here using Y's email..... Christopher, your eloquent writings about gratitude and life 'in and after' a hospital experience, parallel those of my start to 2012, only this time half-way round the world from Victoria, and in a supposedly third-cultural(world) environment!! Angels abound, however, no matter where you are in God's Creation.... Medical staff, orderlies, nurses, technicians, doctors, cleaners, meal attendants, receptionists, newspaper delivery people, taxi drivers(for the most part!!), special friends and, of course, dearly beloved family members; all give their ALL..... How richly blessed I am/we are. No task/job is too menial and while none seeks reward, I share your gratitude, Christopher for the 'silent majority', who by their presen[ts]ce, make each of our lives so much richer by their fleeting, but memorable actions. To paraphrase: "for what you did for the least of these, you did for Me." For a few moments, at least, we, His children, seem to have got it right....... To use another 'tired cliche' from the not-too -distant past, " With all it's sham and drudgery, its still a beautiful world!!" Thanks for all your prayers....multiple blessings to y'all.. David (Bird)

Back in 1993 my wife and I adopted our then 17 month old son Alexei from an orphanage in Dones'k, Ukraine. Because our other son was in the first grade, my wife stayed home with him and I journeyed myself, first to Moscow, then by train to the Ukraine on what was an incredible adventure. At one point during the four weeks when there was nothing that could or needed to be done that day, I started a gratitude list, much like yours, that listed all the people who had helped or blessed us along the way when we had first begun the process 6 months before. By the time my son and I had arrived back home in Buffalo, New York, the list had over 300 names! I'm convinced that those 300 represent only the tip of a very deep iceberg. We certainly aren't islands.

( Lindsay his job is the rest his leg, not his fingers or mind! ) ;-)

Christopher does have to keep his weight off the knee though..so I suggest we get a Roman litter and get some of those strapping fellas in the church to lurch it around and we can supply Christopher with grapes and goodies ( vegan of course ) to keep his strength up. :-D

Your experience was like mine has been in 'the system' - incredible people doing their daily jobs. Much to be thankful for there. Now be open to accepting support and help from the people of St.P's - rest your leg, your body - forget about running around for a week or two - the world will turn, and the Spirit continue to work while you rest - believe me.
Healing Blessings,
Harry

This is like a cliff hanger!Your very positive attitude to your surgery , and your stoic acceptance of a painful and inconvenient trauma has been exemplary. Now w e are concerned that the surgery may not have been totally curative.
I do wish you a rapid and painless recovery.
For reading materiel I do recommend.

Your bodies many cries for WATER,by ,F Batmangheldi, M.D.there is a website www.watercure.com.
I credit it with my avoiding again what would probably be terminal surgery.

Many thanks for good wishes from Jacqueline and jennifer.
