In a landmark study originally sponsored by the dime store magnate W.T. Grant, 268 Harvard grads were selected from the classes of 1942, ’43 and ’44 to be followed through their lives by a team of physicians, social workers, and psychiatrists. At regular intervals they have been examined and interviewed in “an attempt to analyze the forces that have produced normal young men.”
