In Philippians 3:20 Paul hints at an alternative mode of being to living as “enemies of the cross of Christ.” He suggests that we might live with the deep inner knowledge that
our citizenship is in heaven. (Philippians 3:20)
In our second reading in worship yesterday, we read Paul’s challenging attack on those who he says
live as enemies of the cross of Christ. (Philippians 3:8)
In response to my post “The Hard Work of Love” I was sent an interview with Brene Brown who believes that “Courage is borne out of vulnerability, not strength.”
I do not know if we will ever get to see it on the big screen here in the little hamlet of Victoria on the west coast of North America but today is the release date of Terrence Malick’s new film “To The Wonder”.
Lent reminds us of the part of the Christian journey that is hard work.
