The bishop of the Anglican Diocese of British Columbia seeks a full-time associate priest for the parish of St Philip, Oak Bay.

BACKGROUND The Diocese of British Columbia is a regional expression of the Anglican Church of Canada, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and one part of the whole body of Christ. Our diocese is on an exciting journey as we seek, through our diocesan vision, to become renewed people with renewed hearts and renewed spirits.

Located on a quiet street in the picturesque community of Oak Bay, St Philip Anglican Church is one of twenty-four Anglican parishes in the greater Victoria area and one of forty-five diocesan parishes extending across Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands of the Salish Sea and Kingcome Inlet. With a population of approximately 18,000, Oak Bay is one of 12 municipal governments comprising the Capital Regional District.

OUR MINISTRY St Philip is a community of approximately 300 people gathered around a common commitment to Jesus Christ, relying on God’s spirit to lead them, and desiring to create a space of freedom and welcome for all. The parish strives to enable all people to live and grow in life-transforming communion with God through the person of Jesus Christ, and to grow together in supportive spiritual relationships.

If your priestly vocation aligns with where God seems to be leading us at this time and in this place, we want to hear from you.

Copies of the parish profile can be obtained from Imelda Secker, executive assistant to the bishop. Deadline for applications is April 30, 2018.
