Yeshua says: If they say to you:
‘Where do you come from?’
say to them: ‘We come from the Light.
The place where the Light is manifest from itself,
has established itself and manifests through their image.’

If they ask: ‘Is it you?’
answer: ‘We are children of the Light,
the chosen of the living Father.’

If they ask: ‘What is the sign of your Father in you?’
reply: ‘It is movement and it is rest.’

(Matthew 5:14-16; Luke 16:8; John 12:36; Hebrews 4:9)

Where I start from has a great impact on the journey I make and where I am likely to end up.

For Yeshua, the human journey begins in a place of light. The entire human journey therefore is a journey in which “the Light is manifest from itself” through the vessel of every human being.

Jesus said,

You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others. (Matthew 5:14-16)

I often miss the reality of my true nature. I fail to see that I am “the light of the world”; I fall into darkness. I no longer shine like “the lampstand” that “gives light to all in the house.” Those who observe my life legitimately ask, “What is the sign of your Father in you?” How will I recover my ability to shine the light that is the Father’s presence within me?

I must recover the deep awareness that God’s presence “is movement and it is rest.” It is so easy to become caught up in the “movement” and to forget about the “rest”. There is so much pressure to do, and so little encouragement to rest. When I forget that the Father’s presence is both “movement and rest” the light begins to dim.

When I “rest” I open to the deeper truth of my nature as a being of light. I reconnect with the person I truly am, then that reality begins to shape my life more fully and shine more brightly.

Today I will seek to recover in my life the balance between “movement and rest” in order that the light of the Father’s presence in my life may be free to shine through me in the world.
