Hi Christopher –
I moved from Vancouver (St. James’ dtes parishioner) to Yellowknife (hometown) last year. One of your parishioners was up here last summer on practicum and pointed out your blog to me.
It’s now one of a small handful of blogs that I read which form part of my “virtual church” praxis which I do most Sundays (Yellowknife is wonderful, but I miss some of the kind of thinking and discussions I find in your blog).
Anyway: I know it’s not much, but if there were a “donate” button or a paypal, I’d love to contribute $10/month in an ongoing way as my way of supporting your writing.

Nancy,
How lovely to hear from you. Thank you for your comment and encouragement.
The people who make it possible for me to keep writing are the saints of St. Philip Anglican Church in Oak Bay. If you felt moved to make any kind of donation to the community of St. Philip, they would be deeply encouraged by your generosity and would happily give a tax receipt. Any offering could be sent by cheque to St. Philip Anglican Church 2928 Eastdowne Road Victoria, BC V8R 5R8.
Thanks again and God’s blessing on your journey.
Christopher

Greetings Christopher
I had the privilege and joy of attending the Brian McLaren conf. in Victoria a few weeks ago. I’m a horrible note taker and therefore did not retain as much of the conf. as I would have liked. Your postings about the conf. is a great help to me. I really appreciate all the various postings you made and copied each one of them for personal reflection etc. Thank you so much for making that stuff available. It was such a good and potentially life shaping series of talks.

I have just realised by finding this site , that this would have been a more appropriate place to thank you for your blog,
Instead I have added small comments to the wordy replies of thse who believethat they are the cognescenti.
I read your blog each morning , and I find it useful and inspiring.
I shall not feel the need to make constant comment , but I do wish you to know that I appreciate your efforts to bring light .
I am living in Comox , so will perhaps be in Victoria at some time ,and would like to visit your church, if i am able.

Christopher, I have just read your article in the Times Colonist on “A Painful End can be Dignified”. There is one point I would like to add. This Christmas I was asked by The Elder Care Foundation to buy gifts at Christmas time for those in residential hospitals who have no family, no friends so that they would, at least, have Christmas gifts on Christmas Day. I submit to you that your mother was one of those who has loving relatives and friends to make her life meaningful and that there are many, even most, who do not. As a choir performer, I visit many assisted living institutions where there are people who are in living in total isolation from love. They may or may not be in pain, but as Christians, can we honestly say it is Christian?

Hello, I am happy to find your blog [I found it by googling this triad: Recollection Merton Poverty] and will if you don’t mind link to it from time to time on the website of Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal where I contribute almost-weekly “spiritual practice” suggestions to relieve the success-driven committee work sort of parish agenda that, while a sign of life, risks losing sight of Life.
Would this be all right?
I would LOVE to say your pages are easy to read. They are delightful to read But the grey font will be difficult for some and, in some lights, difficult for me.
Also the donation button is not active this morning.
On all of which, all blessings! Vivian Lewin

please feel free to post any links you like from IASP. nb: under the “Donate” heading, is a short paragraph saying: “Donate
This blog is supported by St. Philip Church. To support our ministry, please click here”.
The “click here” button should take you to the donation option.
I’m afraid the grey font is the option provided by WordPress and beyond my control.
Blessings on your ministry
